Volunteer Mission Opportunities

While NASDAD does not organize mission trips, NASDAD does believe deeply in dental missions!
We want to share various mission opportunities available through other organizations.
We have both short and long-term opportunities for your consideration.
If you are interested in one of the trips, please contact the organization directly. NASDAD is simply helping connect our members and other dental professionals to volunteer opportunities.

Caring Hands Worldwide
November 11 and 12, 2023

Oregon's Lane County Fairgrounds
Free Dental Clinic

Consider helping with this free dental clinic for Lane County serving those in need. We are in need of Volunteer Dentists, Dental Hygienists, and Dental Assistants to volunteer for both days, a full day, or half a day November 11th and 12th. Volunteers can receive up to 6 continuing education hours good toward the renewal of their Oregon Dental License.

The clinic will be by appointment only in order to minimize the number of patients in the Lane County Fairgrounds Auditorium at any time.

For additional information call/text 541-556-5902 or e-mail Randy Meyer at randy@caringhandsworldwide.org.

If you wish to sign up to volunteer, please indicate if you are a dentist, dental hygienist or dental assistant and which day(s) you would like to volunteer.

Dental Lifeline Network, A national nonprofit organization
Provides access to dental care and education for people who cannot afford it and:
have a permanent disability, or who are elderly (age 65 or older),
or who are medically fragile

Dear NASDAD Friend,

A Unique Volunteer Experience:
NASDAD, since 2016, has partnered with Donated Dental Services in identifying dentists who want to volunteer their time to serve people who cannot afford dental care and:
Have a permanent disability, OR Are elderly, OR Are medically fragile

Donated Dental Services has volunteers across the USA but is urgently looking for volunteers in particular areas California - specifically in Rancho Cucamonga and San Bernardino and San Diego.

If you want to volunteer with DDS, you can visit their website by clicking on the link to their website for more information and to register.

In most states, Medicare does not cover dental treatment and Medicaid provides little or no dental care for adults. More than 17,000 people are on wait lists for Donated Dental Services (DDS), the flagship program of Dental Lifeline Network. With support from more volunteer dentists and dental laboratories and more funding, more people can be served.

Long-term Opportunities
 One month and longer
If you are interested in volunteering in an SDA overseas mission dental clinic, please contact Doyle Nick DDS, MS at NickD@GC.Adventist.org or follow this link and provide the requested information: Overseas Dental Missions.

What opportunities are available? Volunteering allows the regular, missionary dentist to take annual leave and vacation.
Volunteers help advise on and possibly oversee construction or remodels for dental clinics. Volunteers are also needed to travel to mission clinics to repair their equipment so it is in full working order. Long-term dedicated dentists are also needed overseas to contribute to the mission of the area.

Some Highlighted Opportunities

If you or someone you know has an interest in any of these opportunities,
please contact Doyle Nick DDS, MS at NickD@GC.Adventist.org
or the NASDAD office at nasdad@llu.edu for more details.

New Dental Clinic
in Sierra Leone

A new dental clinic will be established, with good equipment already on location and a lot of marketing already done. It is associated with a suburban Adventist Hospital, but will probably be established in Freetown, the capital city.
