Resorption - Replantation, Where Are We Today?
Zegar Zegar, BDS, DDS, MSD, Diplomate ABE
Dr. Zegar Zegar received his BDS degree in Dental Surgery and Oral Medicine from the University of Baghdad in 2004 after which he maintained a private practice in Jordan from 2004-2008. He then earned his DDS from Loma Linda University in 2013 with 3 honors in teaching assistance, advanced clinical standing and clinical orthodontics. During the next few years, he maintained private practices in Santa Barbara and Los Angeles, and held a position as a part-time Assistant Professor at Loma Linda University from 2013-2018. Dr. Zegar earned his Certificate in Endodontics and MSD degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston in 2018. Dr. Zegar is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics.
Currently, Dr. Zegar practices Endodontics in Redlands and San Diego area, and holds a part-time faculty position at Loma Linda University as Assistant Professor in the Department of Endodontics. Dr. Zegar is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, Houston Endodontic Alumni and Friends, and serves in the board of directors of the American Institute of Oral Biology and the board of directors of the Foundation for Worldwide Health. He enjoys cutting-edge dental technologies and innovations. During his spare time, he enjoys reading, playing tennis, biking and hiking. |
COURSE SYNOPSIS
Resorption and replantation been some of the argumentative subjects as far as diagnosis, treatments and prognosis. Understanding the biological concepts of the how and the why, and the recommended treatment approaches, and restorative recommendations are to be looked at in this lecture. |

A to Z's of Obstructive Sleep Apnea
Sunitha Nune, MD
Dr. Sunitha Nune attended University of Antigua, School of Medicine where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. After medical school, she matched into pediatric Residency at Akron Children's Hospital in Ohio. Later, Dr. Nune pursed a fellowship in Pediatric Neurology at University of Tennessee, Memphis at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital. This gave her the opportunity to directly witness how effective sleep improved baseline neurological disorders and quality of life for patients and their families. Afterwards, she was accepted into a Sleep Medicine Fellowship at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
Currently, Dr. Nune is an Associate Professor of Pediatric Neurology and Sleep Medicine at Loma Linda University Children's Hospital. During her time at LLUCH, she started a Pediatric Comprehensive Sleep Clinic with a robust psychology and sleep medicine team.

Treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea with Mandibular Advancement Appliances
Susan Roche, DDS, MS, FAHS
Dr. Susan Roche received her DDS degree from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. She completed a General Practice Residency Program at the Jerry L. Pettis Veterans Administration Medical Center in Loma Linda. She received a Master of Science Degree in Oral Biology and an Orofacial Pain Residency Certificate from UCLA School of Dentistry followed by a part- time Preceptorship at Cedars Sinai Pain Center in Los Angeles. The American Headache Society awarded her Fellow status in 2014.
Currently, Dr. Roche is an Orofacial Pain Specialist and an Associate Professor in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. Her faculty private practice is limited to the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea and orofacial pain. |
COURSE SYNOPSIS
Mandibular advancement appliances are effective treatment for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and offer patients a viable alternative to continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP). This lecture will discuss dentofacial and intraoral abnormalities which increase patient risk for developing OSA and can affect treatment outcome. This presentation will discuss sleep study OSA ratings, appliance designs and potential side effects, and how the dentist can assess the efficacy of the appliance treatment in managing OSA with post-treatment sleep studies. |
